Sam, March 2012 - July 2013

Today we lost our little girl, Sam. She might have been hit by a car or attacked. We'll never know. We'll always miss and love her. 

My heart is broken, but still I praise Your name.

I told Ivan that I had smeared some  美白 products on his face, and he wandered over to Louie and said the following:

"Louie, do you want some 美白? Do you think you can 美白?"

Tamagotchi Sadness

Ivan just wandered over to me and said (with a choke in his voice) :"Bean bean I'm very upset. Look at my tamagotchi." It had become a snake. 

Incense and Mortgages

This week has been eventful indeed, but let me start from Thursday night. Thursday night, I decided to stay up late and do some taxes for 2005 and 2006. Ivan went to bed before me and fell asleep. I stayed up for about an hour past that and did as much as I could. At about 11 pm, I decided to put my pen down and go to bed. While in bed, I started to pray to God for a bunch of different things - Louie's kennel cough, Ivan's migraines, our home search, our job situations, my family situation, our wedding and our future marriage. I could feel the holy spirit moving and definitely sensed that God was present and very pleased.. every prayer felt strong and heard, and I told God that I trusted him and that no matter what happened, I knew that it was in His plan for us, and that He had good plans for us. heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. I had been praying for awhile, and really pushing forward with power, and enjoying the feeling of God smiling down at me, and all of a sudden I smelled something very smoky. It was so strong that I opened my eyes and sat up in bed, slightly alarmed that something might be on fire. I quickly realised that the smell was quite sweet, although smoky, and it occurred to me that the smell might have almost been that of incense! I took this to be a sign that God was with me, and had heard my prayers, and soon after, the smell became so comforting that I started to drift off to sleep. That was Thursday night. Today is Saturday. We went to 2 home viewings with our realtor, Donna, and the first house we saw, we put an offer down for. It's closed at lower than the asking price, and including the washer and dryer. It ticks all our boxes and more. It's a perfect first home for us, and although it's not firm yet, I have every faith that no matter what happens from here on, whether it falls through or becomes our first home, that He is with us, and that it is part of His perfect plan for us. And you learn from this: it is through an earnest prayer of giving Him your trust that pleases Him, not by desiring to have that heavenly experience (which is what most people are thought to ask for these days)

Ivan just identified the note of his fart as a note in Coldplay's "Viva La Vida".

Drove home from MRU today because Ivan was exhausted! Ran one red light and stalled 3 times, mostly when parking. :D!

Remembering what an awesome time it was watching Ivan play fetch with Louie, just seeing them both loving every minute of ball hunting in the snow. Louie really is the best dog we could ask for. Obedient, friendly with dogs and people, playful at the right times, smart, curious, ADORABLE! He is just the BEST dog we could ever ever ask for. I love him so much and I love how he makes Ivan feel.

Boston Terror

May I never forget the chaos that erupted in Boston today, that a single incident can bring so much pain to the world.

Runners that have lost their legs. I cannot imagine the kind of mental and physical agony they must be going through. I hope their wills are strong, but they must be, right? To be marathoners? Yet this could break them. Peace be upon them in this time.

Ivan's Birthday

I must remember. This year he got a wii and the cuisinart grill. Too many birthdays where I don't actually give him the present on his birthday and then I forget what I got him!
